Question Using Side Thruster on a missile to create a angular acceleration

Is this a trick question ? Regardless of the mass, if the rocket is standing on a dime you can push it over with your pinkie. LOL

Could Mars samples brought to Earth pose a threat to our planet? What the coronavirus (and 'Andromeda Strain') can teach us.

Ignoring the theories that covid 19 was man made, It did have a host to evolve and grow (feed). Flesh eating bacteria, virus', and microbes must have it's food or it dies. If they fear all the conditions exist in the soil to allow this kind of evolution the solution is quite simple: Send...

Bigelow Aerospace lays off all employees: Report

Loosing Bigelow Aerospace would be a huge loss. The BA330 is a proven concept. It's just ahead of it's time. Preserving it should be a priority. Once we have expandable structures off Earth it would have many uses. If I had the money, I'd buy it. Unfortunately, my biggest concern right now is...

    Post Count Totals - Historical

I noticed our old postings from the previous forum has been restored. I understand closing them for comments, but shouldn't they still count towards "seniority" ? I know several original posters who would consider coming back to Space.com if their seniority was restored.

NASA has a plan for yearly Artemis moon landings through 2030. The first one could fly in 2021.

I think they're shooting themselves in the foot by not making these landers reusable. The SLS is going to be the most expensive part of Artemis not to mention it's HIGHLY TOXIC. It can't be sustainable if it's overpriced ! I guess we'll just have to rely on Elon Musk..

SpaceX is holding a Starship career day to ramp up its Mars colonization effort

This license application I previously posted is intended for SN1. Elon is also ramping up to build SN2 plus parts for SN3. If they run into a problem with SN1 they make changes to SN2 and fly it. It is his goal to totally build a Starship with a 3 month build time. He's gearing up for SN1 thru...

    Starliner

From Boeing: "Boeing and NASA are nearing the conclusion of detailed evaluations on how each Starliner system performed during last month’s Orbital Flight Test (OFT). This process is separate from the joint Boeing-NASA independent review team investigating the mission clock anomaly that...

Starship career day at the Stargate building (Boca Chica Blvd, TX) this Thursday from 3pm to 9pm!

Elon Musk @elonmusk · Feb 4 Replying to @elonmusk This is mainly for staffing up 4 production shifts for 24/7 operations, but engineers, supervisors & support personnel are certainly needed too. A super hardcore work ethic, talent for building things, common sense & trustworthiness are...

A question concerning the physics of motion.

It's not clear whether you're talking about two different things or not. You start by referring to "objects" then finish asking about "Quantum". By "objects" are you referring to such things like rocks ? If so general physics apply. Energy is conserved. In order to change anything that's a...

Japanese billionaire calls off girlfriend contest for moon trip on SpaceX Starship

SpaceX just destroyed a huge tank for its Starship on purpose. Here's the video!

Fantastic.... He got his 8.5 bars. The last time he blew the roof off the tank. This time it looks like he blew the bottom. I had some reservations about SS becoming brittle at cryogenic temperatures. Elon said the new SS actually became stronger. But in this test there wasn't any vibration...

NASA honors 3 space tragedies with 'Day of Remembrance'

The tragedy I will remember the most is the Apollo fire. The clips of the fire will always haunt me. I did a job once destroying defective solid rocket fuel rods. People who knew what I was doing thought I was suicidal, which wasn't true. Someone had to do it before they killed innocent people...
