Horsehead Nebula rears its head in gorgeous new James Webb Space Telescope images (video)

I'm rather amazed by the number of galaxies in the background.

Meet the crew launching on Boeing's 1st Starliner astronaut flight

You wouldn't catch me on anything built by Boeing at present, particularly a space ship!

We finally know why NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft stopped communicating — scientists are working on a fix

It is quite amazing it has lasted this long in a space environment.

James Webb Space Telescope gets to the heart of a smoking starburst galaxy (images)

I've shot this galaxy many times. It is really quite a unique stellar target. Cigar Galaxy (M82)

Astronauts' mementos packed on Boeing Starliner for crew flight test

I sure wouldn't want to be on BOEING's first manned flight based on their recent lack of quality assurance!

Why astronomers are worried about 2 major telescopes right now

When mankind gets over the bad habit of trying to kill each other and spending billions and billions of $$$'s on various military boondoggles maybe, just maybe, we can accomplish something constructive!?

Dark matter detected dangling from the cosmic web for 1st time

Just an Engineer keeping with the KISS principle. It doesn't have to be complicated to be true and dark matter is not the simplest explanation! But it does keep all those theoretical physicists employed until a new theory is proposed and rejected.

If aliens had our life-hunting equipment, could they find us?

If the aliens in "Independence Day" can find us, I'm sure we can find them.

We've been 'close' to achieving fusion power for 50 years. When will it actually happen?

Helion, yet another boondoggle into the promise of commercial fusion power. I'm still believing 50+ years before we see meaningful fusion power in the energy grid.

Dark matter detected dangling from the cosmic web for 1st time

As far as dark matter is concerned there is no science to deny. It is pseudoscience and a great way to raise research funds, nothing more!

Dark matter detected dangling from the cosmic web for 1st time

How about simply confirming that gravity is consistent across the universe? A small tweak in gravitational forces would eliminate the need for fictitious dark matter.

James Webb telescope finds ancient galaxy larger than our Milky Way, and it's threatening to upend cosmology

Another nail in the coffin of the ridiculous concept of dark matter! Maybe the gravy train of dark matter research is finally coming to an end and some reasonable theory will be proposed.

Dark matter detected dangling from the cosmic web for 1st time

"... an effect that gravity has on light to indirectly observe dark matter " Yup, I've heard that scientists have seen nonexistent dark matter before, but it helps them drum up more money for useless research into something that simply doesn't exist!

Stunning night sky time-lapse shows how colorful the stars really are (photo)

A nice time-lapse. One of the easiest starts for astrophotography. All you require is a camera, lens and a tripod.
