Suffers from atmospheric losses due to environmental factors such as rain and clouds and hence cannot provide continuous power

May require huge battery storage systems on the ground

Virgin and Blue Orgin are both exepensive roller coasters to space and back (well to the edge). Unless they can achieve space flight for an extended period of time (cough...cough..SpaceX)....they will be doomed
