Day Moon

My approach to learning about cosmology and astronomy - as well as physics in general, is through more intuitive channels. I see links between psychology and philosophical themes, how we view the world, to what we see around us.

I want to learn more about the way of thinking/viewing the world that produces the results I have seen in series like Cosmos, and the more modern view of what space is. Many concepts are hard to grasp, and I also want to understand parts of the actual calculations as well. I guess I will have to read up on some basic physics to understand all the symbols.

Spiral Dynamics, Orchid-Tulip-Dandelions, Nonviolentcommunication, MBTI, Internal Family Systems are models and theories I find useful to understand certain aspects of myself and of being human. When it comes to humans things are very complex as well. If you look at different types of sciences, social, psychological, medical, biological, bacterial etc, humans aren't 'human' only. Our brains are a weird mix of animals most of us do not want to be associated with - reptiles and monkeys. We have zounds of different bacteria, and specifically in our gut, that sends out signals most of us follow - Regarding what we eat, how we feel and how to interpret those signals.
What has not evolved, or better that come into balance, is how we as humans talk about ourselves regarding what 'science' tells us. It is like there is a massive disconnect between the two. Discovering facts is one thing, internalizing, reflecting and maybe even understand what that means, and creating congruity between what we know and how we act - takes a lot of time. The harder and more absurd the subject is to us, the harder it is to do. In other words, what limits us is not scientific breakthroughs or the next technology - what limits us is our own consciousness.
And acknowledging that our bodies and minds are vulnerable, get overstimulated and needs a certain pace to function. The way I see society now is many people that have a serious case of fever. They do not interpret it as fever, they interpret it as 'something that hinders growth'. So they fight it, they do more, and it gets worse. If not for themselves, then for their children and everyone around them. We have incredible amounts of knowledge and science - but have not taken the time to take it all in. To change our perspective, to understand what it means, to come to terms with it. It is groundbreaking, earthshattering, paradoxiacal and paradigm-changing. It will give you a psychosis if you let it, or even worse.

Well, enough of that, and back to leaning. :)
