    Hobby astronomy in a city

So, I have been a space enthusiast for years now, and I have recently been looking at getting a telescope to get into astronomy, but the only problem is that I live right outside of a decent sized city (215,000 people), and I am wondering if the light pollution from the city will ruin any shots...

    TIME

Yeah, I'm not even going to try and comprehend time from a scientific perspective.

Safety, safety, safety! Man, I love NASA.

Fuel leak delays NASA's Artemis 1 moon mission launch

Well yes, but I don't see how this would end up being that much worse than what would happen if they scrap the project. If anything, it would show how they need more funding than they currently have, as it would show that reusing old surplus equipment runs the serious risk of explodey bits going...

Fuel leak delays NASA's Artemis 1 moon mission launch

Also, remember, if NASA says that the rocket's life cycle is 20 refuelings, it could probably take 40 before critical failure. If there is one thing that NASA is good at, it's extreme caution and redundancy.

Why is ISS lifespan only 30 or so years ?

I mean, it doesn't need to go all the way to the moon. Even just shifting it into a high earth orbit would drastically increase it's lifespan, as well as massively decreasing the chance of a catastrophic debris collision.

It could, but that would introduce significantly more possible points of failure.

    Questions about Space Travel

In addition to what everyone else has said, my personal advice as a writer would simply be that when it comes to a matter of story or realism, go for what improves the story. While realism can be important, especially with the type you are writing, in the end, it is not meant to a scientific...

Question Does anyone think we SpaceX (Elon Musk) can land the first people on mars by 2024?

While I dislike Elon for many reasons, one of the big things I do appreciate about him is that he is the current big driving force behind space exploration, and I think it is important he continues to do that for the time being.

Question Does anyone think we SpaceX (Elon Musk) can land the first people on mars by 2024?

While I'm not saying it's impossible, I would heavily doubt those numbers, as they don't really have any progress on the technology so far, and it is entirely speculative.

    Question Solar sail acceleration

When you consider how sparse deep space is, I really don't believe that it is likely that there would be enough damage for it to really be relavant

How will the war in Ukraine continue to shift world dynamics?

As far as power, with how old the solar panels on the Russian side are, it would increase the power available. As far as life support, the greatest danger would be the seals of the hatches connecting the two sides failing, in which case both the American and Russian sides would sustain severe...
