I always wanted to see a shuttle launch but never got the opportunity. Although I did see one of the shuttles on the back of the 747. As I recall weather forced the shuttle to land in California. The 747 was carrying the shuttle back to Florida when it landed in Colorado Springs/Peterson Field...
