Milky Way stars photobomb picturesque spiral galaxy in stunning Hubble photo

300 million light years away. Space distance is always mind-blowing. We'd still never reach that galaxy alive if humans could travel 1 million light years in a calendar year. But there's plenty of areas of the Milky Way to explore. Someday. Maybe.

#MeToo in space: We must address the potential for sexual harassment and assault away from Earth

Cold truth there. Happens so often it's rare not to see it, unfortunately. Appreciate the insights.

Why did Elon Musk put a Car /Ct Dummy into the Asteroid Belt instead of trying to save the Hubble Telescope from burning up in the Earth's Atmosphere?

In addition to a sense of humor, it also is a display of manufactured items to any otherworlders who may happen to see them. Did he include a sticker for Made On Earth or something?

The James Webb Space Telescope never disproved the Big Bang. Here's how that falsehood spread.

What's the theory on how all the matter and energy prior to the BBT was first compressed into the size of a house (or whatever) to begin with? The rubberband theory? Where everything goes out and returns ... still need a starting point.

#MeToo in space: We must address the potential for sexual harassment and assault away from Earth

Does raise some interesting scenarios about independence. How independent is a colony on Mars when their spaceships, etc. are all created on Earth?

'Blade Runner' at 40: Director Ridley Scott's dystopian masterpiece continues to reverberate today

"... received a mediocre reception upon release and was nowhere near the influential masterwork that’s now considered to be one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time." Ha. I could tell five minutes into the first time seeing it that it was going to be great.

Fastest-growing black hole ever seen is devouring the equivalent of 1 Earth per second

3 billion times the mass of the sun would go beyond hole and into black abyss.

Milky Way mapper Gaia to release new data on Monday. Here's how to watch it live.

New information on roughly half a billion stars in our Milky Way. There has to be a fair number of solar systems with planets among those. The odds that Earth hosts the only life forms within our galaxy have got to be microscopically small. Toss in a billion other galaxies all with their own...

Watch a huge asteroid zoom safely past Earth, 10 times farther away than the moon

All this technology and humans are just as vulnerable as the dinosaurs were.
