Hypervelocity star drags fastest exoplanet through space at 1.2 million mph

Why cant they use red shift to get a speed along the Earth : star direction?

NASA finds key molecules for life in OSIRIS-REx asteroid samples. Here's what that means

Seems to me life needs more than what was on Benny. That is why none formed. My question is why did the parts we found exist? How did they get there?

Beam me to the stars: Scientists propose wild new interstellar travel tech

Motie is right as far as it goes but he missed my main point. That charge build up is a requirement for a ground return. The electrostatic force is far stronger than gravity or kinetic energy and would soon stop the beam from sending an ever increasing neg charge. The other commenters bring up...

SpaceX rolls out Super Heavy rocket for Starship Flight 6 test launch (photos)

The clear fact that SS was approved for launch suddenly shows that it was Bureaucracy and not safety or environmental related.

Record-breaking ancient spinning galaxy challenges cosmic evolution theories

I Wonder if they can identify the Dark Matter halo? If there is one.

2nd Kuiper Belt? Our solar system may be much larger than thought

What about the Ort Cloud? As for using a powerful radar, I think a radar spacecraft powered by nuks, might se more than Earth bound radar. Could do a 360 scan, point radar dish at Earth to do a data dump and repeat, as it continues out to even the Ort cloud.

China's Yutu 2 rover still going strong after nearly 6 years on the far side of the moon (video)

This shows the West that China is a space-capable country now and not a copycat. The USA must invest in pure science more and stop pinching off research and investments if it wants to stay in front. FAA and other agencies need to let SpaceX continue development or the Chinese will land on the...

NASA astronauts can't wear Boeing Starliner spacesuits in SpaceX's Dragon. Here's why

I fully agree. It is actually a safety issue as it is too complex and costly to keep many suits for many people and many spaceships. Temporarily they need a minimum life support suit that fits all (but not well), IMO.

NASA astronauts can't wear Boeing Starliner spacesuits in SpaceX's Dragon. Here's why

A bad decision by NASA to allow each craft to have separate spacesuits. When more carriers start (like Siera) it will be a mess. Much more efficient to make them interconnect. Also, try to make them work in capsules, spacewalks, and eventually deep (radiation-filled) space.

Rocket Lab's Mars probes reach launch site ahead of 1st flight on Blue Origin New Glenn rocket (photos)

The failures put Blue somewhere between SpaceX and Boeing.

How can we build landing and launch pads on the moon?

You need to take advantage of what ever you can, so I think combining ideas is the way to approach LLP's. Site your base next to 1 or 2 fresh craters, provides a safety berm for free. use Rhino Snot in conjunction with the hot exhaust during landing to fuse the regolith into a hard pad. Later...

Can Starliner bring its astronauts home? Boeing, NASA test-fire spacecraft's engines at ISS

I can imagine a situation where the ground tests do not directly explain a problem but it is immediate in space. you can not test a rocket in a vacuum on the ground. Before it is even lit, it is no longer a vacuum. Other problems are the sun and dark every 45 min, an insulated dog house, and...

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket suffers anomaly during Starlink satellite launch

SpaceX can send other Starlinks to prove it still works while they work the investigation. Possible Ox or fuel leak could maybe hinder the engine relight and could be a 1 tie fail. Good chance they can pinpoint that in a few days/weeks.
