I was thinking here. Having humans in Mercury would be more trouble than what is worth, so perhaps we should use robots instead. As for ore refining...I am not an expert, but could we use the high temperature of light around Mercury's orbit to 'pre-refine' the iron? Ah. I hope I am not doing...
