Why is it so hard to send humans back to the moon?

I've heard that the technology of the SaturnV was destroyed once the Apollo program was closed. This was to keep the Soviets from obtaining any knowledge for their own gain. Thus, we essentially destroyed the technology to go back.

Nuclear fusion reactor in South Korea runs at 100 million degrees C for a record-breaking 48 seconds

Look how long it took to go from general research to now at 48 seconds. Time will tell how things go in the future. I envisioned back in '88 that the best method for a reactor would be in space; less energy to hold the plasma and a vacuum already exists. Trick is beaming power back down to...

NASA Eclipse Soundscapes Project will record how 2024's total solar eclipse impacts nature

I know during the 2017 eclipse, I was in the eastern part of Oregon in one of the wilderness areas. It was interesting to hear the coyotes start howling and the crickets start chirping during the eclipse.

Problem with the photo is that the emission shown is not green house gases. Those emitters are actually coolers and what is seen is just water vapor. Please select much better and relevant photos.

Saturn IB rocket no longer safe to keep standing at Alabama rest stop

There is a Saturn V already laying down inside a building just to the west of the vertical display. That system has the stages separated so folks can see the interconnections.

'Star Trek: Picard' finale: It's both amazing and awful, yet ultimately disappointing

We all should know there would be a chance of season two since Whoopi was not in season one. And the only way to have killed Picard to get the beacon shut off, was to re-incarnate him into the golem. I saw that coming. A shame all the other characters did not, though some of them did not know...

Happy Leap Day 2020! Google doodle celebrates Earth's extra day, but why?

Money. OK, it was originally used to save electricity back in Germany prior to WWII. However, when we pushed the fall back date to the first weekend in October it was due to money - that extra hour gave candy manufacturers that extra hour to hand out candy on Halloween. Personally, I would like...
