SpaceX Polaris Dawn astronauts perform historic 1st private spacewalk in orbit (video)

Where is the video link? I only saw photos and links to other stuff.

What became of the flags Apollo astronauts left on the moon?

This talk about corner reflectors is mundane as a corner reflector is typically a set of mirrors whereby light shining into it will reflect back in the direction the light came from. Usually there is a ±90° capability. Thus, a robotic landing is not critical. Heck, send a ship up to crash and it...

What became of the flags Apollo astronauts left on the moon?

I remember the "flat earther" guy that died in his one rocket. His goal was to get to 5000 feet to see the Earth curvature. Ignorance abound, he could have taking a flight to 35000 feet in an airplane. Or used a balloon to go even higher.

How long would it take to reach Planet 9, if we ever find it?

It can gain speed in a straight line if using a solar sail or pulsed laser; other than just engine thrust.

The Milky Way's last major act of galactic cannibalism was surprisingly recent

The other way to look at it is, "Were we part of the merger and we were devoured by the Galaxy?"

Things are finally looking up for the Voyager 1 interstellar spacecraft

Actually there are three Voyagers. The third is still at JPL. It is there to be used as a test bed for code check. Quite a nice piece of artwork, electronically. There are no processors since everything was made from discrete logic chips.

Why is it so hard to send humans back to the moon?

I've heard that the technology of the SaturnV was destroyed once the Apollo program was closed. This was to keep the Soviets from obtaining any knowledge for their own gain. Thus, we essentially destroyed the technology to go back.

So, where is the link to see the map?

Nuclear fusion reactor in South Korea runs at 100 million degrees C for a record-breaking 48 seconds

Look how long it took to go from general research to now at 48 seconds. Time will tell how things go in the future. I envisioned back in '88 that the best method for a reactor would be in space; less energy to hold the plasma and a vacuum already exists. Trick is beaming power back down to...

NASA Eclipse Soundscapes Project will record how 2024's total solar eclipse impacts nature

I know during the 2017 eclipse, I was in the eastern part of Oregon in one of the wilderness areas. It was interesting to hear the coyotes start howling and the crickets start chirping during the eclipse.

Chinese astronomers say their new space telescope will outdo Hubble

Considering the age of Hubble, I would not be surprised China's could be better. However, Webb telescope will still be better than China's.

NASA sets sights on a next-generation Mars helicopter to return Red Planet samples

What would be forward thinking is that the craft going to Mars to pick up sample tubes, should also carry empty tubes to restock the rover so that the sampling efforts can continue.

New satellite to police carbon dioxide emitters from space

Problem with the photo is that the emission shown is not green house gases. Those emitters are actually coolers and what is seen is just water vapor. Please select much better and relevant photos.
