Why Peter Higgs leaves a massive legacy in the field of physics

RIP Higgs, besides being an extraordinary physicist, I believe his name was also used in several Sci-Fi movies - including Alien.

    Exoplanet Stats

Things won't get really interesting before we manage to build a +1km telescope in space to observe the potential megafauna of these worlds. It may have to have a diameter as large as 10km to actually identify signs of life, but with 3D printers it should be possible.

    Exoplanet Stats

What about light pollution? & How much time you spend observing/collecting light from the same exoplanet? May be 200km, but I'm pretty damn confident you can get away with less if you place it far enough away from the sun & spend enough time observing the planets 1 by 1. Perhaps as little as 100...

The real magic will happen when we can build telescopes large enough to see fauna & cities? on exoplanets. Until then this is great! Thanks for sharing

Feature This week's community question is about celestial objects!

Jupiter & Saturn all the way<3 Except for Earth of course, but I think we all agree that´s our #1 priority. Needless to say I would be beyond delighted to see a mission to Enceladus, Europa or Ganymede in my time! I mean one that drills below the Ice & looks around in one of those under-ice...

Giveaway This Month's Giveaway is All About Mars and Perseverance! - Winner Announced!

As much as I love imagining human bases all over Mars, I think we should focus our attention more around the Moons of Jupiter & Saturn. My focus would be especially on Enceladus & Europa as there is a pretty plausible chance we will be able to zoom in on the versimilitude of life throughout...

Feature This week's community question concerns space travel!

I´d want to bring 3 books if the other crew members would bring 3 too, we could borrow each others and make sure everyone has a fresh book each month. Also I would bring mini-games, music, art & some old school computer games. I´d hope the crew would be 50/50 male / female. But in the end I...
