    Roads on Mars?

Those indentations are fill-in from the underground subway. No, they are not roads, or anything of the like.

The clouds of Venus join the shortlist for potential signs of life in our solar system

I believe there may be a small chance that they will find the remains of microbial life 50–65 km above the surface of Venus, not because I believe there is a possibility of indigenous life in the upper atmosphere of Venus. You see, there is scientific evidence establishing that diatoms and other...

Asteroid impact, not volcanic activity, killed the dinosaurs, study finds

Good response. Many people do not realize how detailed our knowledge is regarding geological/planetary history, including early faint sun, Theia collision, lack of oxygen until two main oxygenation events, five supercontinent episodes, 5-7 main near extinctions, one with near 95% of land and 70%...

Life on Mars? Meet the new rover built to give us the answer

You've got some reasonable points regarding temperature. Also, lack of sensors in missions. And, especially your last sentence! Still, color me skeptical on subterranean life, even on outer planet moons (deep water below the crust, etc.). But, that is another discussion.

Life on Mars? Meet the new rover built to give us the answer

Water, water. Important, but it's not totally assured that Mars has a "stable" subterranean body of liquid water on Mars. As Jeffrey Plaut, a MARSIS principal investigator at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory who was not an author on the paper, stated in an interview, “I would say the...

Life on Mars? Meet the new rover built to give us the answer

Firstly - wonderful! - To hopefully finally get some Mars rocks back for analysis! Secondly, to date, more than 20 Martian meteorites have been recovered on earth. These Martian rocks were blasted away from the grip of Mars' gravity many years ago as asteroids and comets crashed upon that...

Massive 'Dust Towers' on Mars Look Like Superd Versions of Earth's Thunderstorms

We see these upshoots today. But, how about billions of years ago? Could these be a result of the decimation of Mars atmosphere much earlier? Virginia Tech geophysicists analyzed the jarosite mineral detected by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity. Rather than proving that Mars once provided...
