Is this one of the closest approaches by an asteroid for us recently? <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

It's not even in the top 20, but it is pretty close. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. This puppy is from 25 to 50 feet in diameter. If it's a C-2 type, it would be in the 3000 ton range. Maybe this one would be a good candidate to grab as an ore body. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /> We should start mission planning right away.<img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font color="#993300"><span class="body"><font size="2" color="#3366ff"><div align="center">. </div><div align="center">Never roll in the mud with a pig. The closest, 2004 FU162 passed 12900 km = 8000 miles from the CENTER of the earth, on March 31 2004.<br /><br />See a list here at the IAU Minor Planet Center <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Boris, looking at the MPC link I posted above I come up with 5-15 meters, most likely on the high end of that.<br />It depends on the albedo, which is still unknown AFAIK.<br /><br />Wayne <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John.
