The Sky & Telescope tool referenced is a good tool for creating a night sky chart for your location. I use Stellarium and Starry Night too. If you live in an area where the sky at night is dark enough, you can look up and see M31 now, the Andromeda galaxy. At my location I can see with unaided eyes also clusters like the Double Cluster in Perseus. Binoculars and telescopes provide even better views.
