I don't understand this article (Math, Nuc Eng).
To start with, "less clumpy" & "more complicated" are not antonyms. One is not the reverse of the other.
A foundation of our current understanding is that the Universe is homogeneous - looks the same regardless of the direction you look.
How does gravity, pulling matter together, produce a result that is "less clumpy'?
Cosmology has been leaning hard on both "Dark Energy" & "Dark Matter" (two huge Fudge Factors) for half a century, to try & explain what they don't understand. When those two puzzle pieces don't fit, they tweak their Fudge recipe.
I think they may want to look at all aspects of their foundation.
