My fear is that both state agencies and private groups in a "helter skelter" rush to exploit the moon's limited resources will irrevocably perturb the orbit of the moon which will have marked untoward impacts upon the Earth. Why should humans be residing/working on the moon, or for that matter, Mars? Neither place is attractive nor supportive of our life form , and any occupation will be expensive in terms of supportive Earth resources. If H. Sapiens follows its history, "screwing up" the moon may turn out to be a precursor to H. Sapiens' extinction. Smart we are; Wise we are not.
