When going through the Davission Germer experiment about the electron diffraction there in the calculation they had neglected the work function of the nickle piece and also the interference of the different electron waves by the different layers of the nickle piece.Even then their result came out to be correct. Now I would like to ask does it doesn't have any effect on the result & if yes then why?

As always all the views r highly welcomed

Sorry, I am not familiar with the experiment - can you link to or post more detail?

How does one know the result was correct if there was interference that was not taken into account?
