Dear ‘Space Forum’

I have published a drafted story on the Internet, mainly to show the idea, get feedback and get inspiration. It can be seen at http://www.accidentalgenesis.com/

Any comment or advice is very welcome.
Good story so far, Vidar. I like it that several planets have life on them. Nice artwork too. I do fractals, let me know if you would like me to make you some

is this story supposed to correspond with the development of Sol? so far it seems as if your four terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars... except you have made Earth smaller with low gravity, when in actuality it is the largest terrestrial planet with the highest gravity. plus you have the four gas giants. so, yeah. thats what i'm wondering, if this is Sol in its early development.

your writing style leaves a little to be desired grammar-wise and you could use a decent editor to put everything together. however its not bad or un-interesting, i actually read through what you have so far without getting bored. but i'm hoping that you have some surprises in store

edit: oh, there's more. your '65 Genesis' page is blank and i thought that was where it ended. i'll continue to read

Thank you a lot for the feed-back.

Yes, here is a story-spoiler.

The story is about our solar system, starting half a billion years ago, when life started. The four terrestrial planets are venus, earth, mars and astro, a waterplanet in the asteroid orbit. The oort planet was in orbit in the oort cloud, but got kicked in and fell towards the sun in a comet-like oval orbit. It also drags the moon mercury from a Jovian planet and leaves it in close orbit to the sun. every cycle of oort is dramatic to the other planets. on earth we know them as the greate ice-ages. Eventually the Oort planet collides with astro.

I have re-written the story several times. Originally it was merely about the oort planet, first named nemesis after Asimov’s novel). But soon I was advised that I cannot base a novel merely on objects and life forms. It needs some characters the readers can associate with. but there were no humans at that time. The solution was to pick a little from mythologies and invent Lucy and Klype. Consequently, the novel had to turn mythological as well as scientific. (note, the numbers are million years.)

Now I see the story as an attempt to combine creationism and Darwinism. The four terrestrial planets were unintentionally seeded. Against all odds, life on earth develops and survives the accidental genesis and oort's periodically appearances.

English is not my mother-tongue. Sure it needs editing, and even finishing. Once I had hopes in seeing it as a novel in bookstores, and even as a movie. now, that I know it takes a lot of time and money, and such publication unlikely, I consider it a hobby and publish it the cheap and democratic way, at the internet.
Personally I really liked it. It kept me reading till about 3 in the morning last night. I personally think that you should try and publish it. I would love to hear more of the story so I will be waiting till you add more .

I have an answer for everything...you may not like the answer or it may not satisfy your curiosity..but it will still be an answer.
"Imagination is more important then Knowledge" ~Albert Einstien~
Guns dont kill people. Thanks a lot. You might be the first person that have read it all (at least what i know)

I have kind of published it (on internet). But yes I know what you mean, though. My experience so far is that its hard, costly and time consuming trying traditional publishing, - and it probably wont succeed. Therefore I have frozen this edition like it is. However, I was thinking it as part one of a trilogy. The second part will be about genetically redesigning life and eventually The Fall. The third part will be about a global warfare between man and Neanderthals, ending with the dawn of the stone-age empires, we see the ruins of today.

Actually, my concern the recent year has been of a very different story. It’s called NewFound Land. I considered it complete and could be (traditionally) published as it is. This is also a first part of a trilogy. Still it’s hard to get through in the publishing business, even with a complete novel, especially when I write in, to me, a foreign language.
