The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has accepted Amazon's upd orbital debris mitigation plan and approved the company's 3,000-satellite Kuiper constellation.

Of course the rest of the world doesn't get a say in the matter. That will mean well over 10,000 satellites beaming microwaves at us from space and trashing the view of the night sky. Ridiculous isn't a sufficiently strong word for this. If it isn't stopped, I expect it to proliferate as every country feels the need to have their own satellite array.
