Hello. Love that this story is getting so much attention. One quick correction: Horus was the son of Isis, not Wadjet. Wadjet served as his protector when he was young while he and Isis were in hiding from Set, who had murdered Horus's father Osiris.
Additionally, Wadjet and Nekhbet were not just symbols of protection for upper and lower Egypt, but were also the goddesses who conferred official royalty on deities and Pharaohs alike. This is why you see both the cobra (Wadjet) and the vulture (Nekhbet) on the death mask of Tutankhamen, for example. It symbolized his rule over a united Egypt.
This observatory was part of a 19-acre temple complex dedicated to Wadjet and may have served as an Old Kingdom capital and coronation site for multiple Pharaonic dynasties.
