Arm-chair astronomy

Just wondering if there are any web sites that give the public access to astronomy photos that can be examined for phenomena? ie, narrow-field shots of nebula, binary stars etc. . . I read that TMR-1C was discovered well after the photo was taken. I know that hubble has a public site but, it would be kewl to look at photos that harbour similar proto-planets or undiscovered comets and asteroids! Any thoughts?
