A lunar eclipse may be followed by a solar eclipse; or a solar eclipse, then a lunar eclipse. At times there are partial eclipses before and after a total or a near total eclipse, making 3 eclipses in a group. Eclipses pairs occur just less then 6 months apart, when the plane of the Moon's orbit crosses the plane of Earth's orbit. There are at least four eclipses every year, with a maximum of 7. This will not happen again untill 2038.

www.siriuslookers.org
