astrophotography- HELP!

I am attempting astrophotos, but when I am focusing I dont have enough in-focus. It is with eypiece projection and prime focus. All advise is accepted.

Need more info. What do you mean by "not enough in-focus"? Are you using a t-adapter? What kind of camera/scope? What settings are you using and what are you trying to shoot?

Meade DS-2130 scope, pentax super me camera. the foucuser is all the way in but just out of focus, imaging double stars.

how is there a barlow built in? where in the scope?

If you are connecting to the rear cell (prime focus) I think you need a SLR camera (removable lens) Try taking a shot using the afocal method (through the eyepiece). Yeah, cosmic pool is my favorite; it took me quite a while to put that one together. The Jupiter picture was a bit of work as well.<br /><br />On the sun, I was playing around with several filters: On the large one I used a narrow band nebula filter and the smaller on was just a simple blue filter. Of course both were in conjunction with my full aperture solar filter. <br /><br />

i am doing afocal. I just need more in-focus. is there a lens or anything that could get it into focus?

If you can look through your eyepiece and focus in on an object you should not have trouble taking a picture through it. <br /><br />Here is the steps I take:<br />I find my object and focus in on it. I then take the eyepiece out, attach it to the camera and set it back in. Even in auto focus mode your picture should come out. I set my camera on manual and set the focus out to infinity for a shaper image. <br /><br />Are you able too look directly into the eyepiece and see in focus? <br />

what are you using? Im using the meade basic camera addapter with t-ring. will it work better in prime focus. the eyepiece in the adapter increases length from the mirror to eyepiece. I need to put the focuser in as far as possible but when I do that it is still out of focus.
