Best Astro-Photo setup for 2 grand

If i have around 2000$ to spend what do you guys/girls recommend for taking astrophotography. I already have a Nikon D50 camera. I was thinking one of Orions APO Refractors probably 100mm (900$) and then some equatorial mount with the other 1000$. What do you guys think? <br /><br />Meade claims that their LX90GPS (Schimidt-Cassegrain) is really good for photography
