A recent Aviation Week article talks about the Cibola Flight Experiment. http://directory.eoportal.org/pres_CFESatCibolaFlightExperimentSatellite.html One of the experiments was to prove that a supercomputer could stand the space operating environment. These 9 processors would combine to operate 100 times faster than current qualified microprocessors. That would be handy for image analysis of your equipment, as is being discussed in another thread.<br /><br />It was interesting that this satellite is hitching a ride on a DoD launch. That's a nice way to cut costs!
