Blue Beetle live action

Being developed by DC Comics, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers, as a live action TV series.

Jaime Reyes, an el Paso, Texas teenager, encounters a giant blue scarab-like AI that fuses to his spine as a sybiont. Originally created by a race of alien marauders as an infiltration device, the AI's programming isn't quite "right", allowing Jaimie to use the AI's powers but not be taken over by it.

Is a "super beetle" comic book hero something that will last on TV these days? How many bug jokes are going to undermine the premise?

It looks interesting and, if they approach it right, it might be fun. Alas, my favorite buglike superduperhero's series didn't make it... such a shame...
