If you think about it, what would be left over from a gigantic explosion in space? Well, everything would be flying apart going in all directions. This velocity of all this mater flying apart would create a really big hole of nothing at the center where the explosion was. So, the expected signature left over after the big bang would be a very large hole of absolutely nothing.

it wasn't an "explosion". It was an Expansion.
