There are a load of new vids available over at nasa space flight. Its really interesting to see the difference bettween skylab, MIR and the ISS. I never reallised that skylab was sooo big! Running round the locker looks like a lot of fun.

That's www.nasaspaceflight.com in case you aren't sure where to go.

The forum is http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com (but you have to be registered or you won't see the video section). At least its free unlike some sites that have video.

Love the Buran launch videos and the VentureStar stuff but my favourite is Shuttle launch that was done by video camera as I didn't know launches were THAT loud . Don't know about Mir and Skylab. I'm not old enough ahhha

Unfortunately, as a consequence of Skylab being a modified SIVB, a lot of that space was wasted....

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Thanks for the link. I've signed up there and for this ex-Apollo guy its great to see all the interest from a site that is pretty much a Shuttle site give respect to the happy days.

I feel a bit dumb as I've been reading their news for a while seen as they do a better job than most. Didn't know about the forum and the video section on there. Memories of the milkstool!

I recon that if a resupply apollo CSM was developed that the space could have been used. Rolling and running around the lockers looks alot more fun than the ISS tredmill.

Thanks, we're fast gaining permission to publish videos from many archives (650 last night, 2500 today) and we'll get them on each day.

For now, we're taking requests, from Apollo upwards).

A lot of the information indicates they really didn't plan for much in the way of long term resupply/operation - much less additions to Skylab.

That might have changed had the second mission using the backup hardware gone...

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

I agree, but just think how many ISPRs would fit inside a skylab. Add the solar truss to power them and you have the ISS decades earlier, say skylab 3 about 1980, but then that day dreaming...

Just a note to say we're getting as many Apollo launches on the server as possible (even if we are a 'Shuttle' site as such).

We've got Apollo's 11,15,17 and will try and grab others.

Those Saturn V's are amazing!!!!
