I used to check out a site occasionally that had a list of everything that was "up" ... it also had projected decay dates and you could look up a date to see what was coming home .... it had all the old satellites with decay dates, etc.

any ideas?

I'll just bump this once ... I've still been looking and I just can't find it.

The site was very cool though ... it included every object currently in orbit, launch date and projected reentry date.

GN
I've never seen a catalog, but whenever on-orbit items is discussed one in particular arouses my curiosity. There is always mention of a glove. How does a glove get into orbit? I think I'm safe in assuming an astronaut didn't lose during an EVA.

"There is always mention of a glove. How does a glove get into orbit?"

Actually, it was lost by Ed White in 1965 on Gemini 4.

Quote from here:

"In 1965, during the first american space walk, the Gemini 4 astronaut Edward White, lost a glove. For a month, the glove stayed on orbit with a speed of 28,000 km / h, becoming the most dangerous garment in history."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them.
