Interesting article, but one error: You say:

Mathematician Katherine Johnson, for example, created calculations allowing the two spacecraft of Apollo (the command module and lunar module) to meet up with each other in lunar orbit. NASA's headquarters is now named after Johnson.

Katherine Johnson did indeed perform those calculations, but it was her Hidden Figures colleague Mary Jackson who was honored with the naming of the NASA Headquarters building.
