I doubt there's any need to go over 0.5g. For a given radius it keeps the rotation rate down and the mass down. Optimum rotation is probably about 3-4rpm, striking a balance between a giant structure and the disorientations caused by high rpms.

Not remotely...yet. Our engineering just isn't yet up to the task. Someday, perhaps...

Maybe HellRat meant if it's physically possible, which it is. One could have a big ring like that with a simulated gravity. Would have to be pretty big if it's meant to spin around a star, though!
