The sample-collecting Chang'e 5 moon lander deployed a small version of China's five-star red flag on Thursday (Dec. 3), shortly before the mission's attached ascent vehicle launched into lunar orbit.

Good for them! National pride can be a wonderful thing -- "yeah for our side" is expressed in many ways in stadiums.

Pride should not always be taken as a form of arrogance. Removing the US flag's portrayal in a somewhat recent Apollo movie caused me to not watch the movie. I was in HS and watched Armstrong make that step and I sensed the whole world was in unity in supporting their risky mission.
