There is a theory that sapient life on a planet may be detectable by the amount of "unnatural" debris orbiting the planet. Could we on Earth be inadvertently advertising out presence with electronic signals and a growing debris field? Perhaps some of those unexplained UFO reports are simply space alien tourists/conquistadors "checking out" the primitive slobs? Snottiness aside, it seems that NASA's space efforts need a realistic cost benefit analysis which in turn may generate public/tax payer support.
