It’s rare to see these except from IR space scopes.

But what’s it showing us? Are protoplanets in the void ring, having accreted disk material, or are they in the dense bright rings?

Interesting image here for disc. When I look at the .eu site with 7498 exoplanets now, 106 show some type of disc apparently using IR excess and imaging. There are 323 stars with discs shown here, https://www.circumstellardisks.org/index.php

I have trouble finding good data on *protoplanetary* discs shown to the public. Mass, dust mass, gas mass, size in au etc.
