Whenever someone talks about the Drake Equation I roll my eyes. It's hardly a revelation. Any decent high school kid could have written the Drake Equation in about five minutes. Its a simple set of probabilities none of which are known. It achieves nothing. It accomplishes nothing. It isn't original and it has no value.

No octopuses will never evolve language and will never evolve a culture as they are not social animals. Animals with social structure like wolves and apes are the ones with potential.
