Deep Impact and Tempel 1

Wondering what effect the impact will have on future meteor showers. Will most of the ejecta remain in the same orbit and create a larger than normal shower? If so; do we know how many years before Earth will pass through that 'glob'?

I'm bad. Just found the data on Tempel 1. No meteor showers. Sorry for the dumb question. I guess it make sense to choose an object that does not cross Earth's orbit to avoid some unexpected chunk breaking off and becoming a hazard.
