Except for relataively bright objects that require very short exposure time, a Dobsonian telescope is not suitable for astrophotography, and that is because (so I am told) because although the telescope can be made to track the desired object it doesn't stay oriented properly on the focal plane's imaging device. The image rotates so that, after even a short exposure, the image is blurred.<br />Would it be possible to construct a mechanism that would compensate for the image rotation by rotating the imaging device?
