1. Why does Dextre have to be assembled rather than shipped up in one piece like CanadaArm2 was?

2. Does someone have images showing the pre-assembly layout (the various pieces)?

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

Anyone else thinking of Dextre as a "he" rather than an "it". It was mentioned in the conference, and i have to agree. With its almost human like appearance i do think of it as almost human

Apart from maniacal laughter scenarios, I do tend to think of it as a "he". It's kind of an eerie device, really.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

If mr. Dextre is he, when the CSA will build ms. Dextress to avoid him being lonely? :p

Sorry guys, but I couldn't help myself and I had to post this stupid offtopic "joke" kind of. :)

Hey, I'd be cool with seeing a Mrs Dextre up there. ;-) Robotics are cool, and robotics in space have that extra tinge of nerdy goodness.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
