'Direct a no-go', Ares I OK - Dr Stanley of ESAS

Ross Tierney, the main spokesman for DIRECT, asked Doug Stanley to look over the proposal. He's been giving his response at the nasaspaceflight.com forum. Which is, basically, that it won't work - the principal reason being over-optimistic performance assumptions for the RS-68 engine with a regenerative nozzle.<br /><br />Dr Stanley has also been commenting on concerns over the Ares I.
