Doctor Who Monster/Villian We'd Like to Come Back...

<p>I saw a lot of Doctor Who talk so I thought I'd start a thread about which monsters/villians from the old series you'd like to see make a comeback.</p><p>I like the Zygons. In fact, I think some of my favorite episodes of the old series were the 4th Doctor with Sarah Jane. So Zygons, Krinoids, Sutekh (Set?)...</p><p>I like there only being one Dalek left. I'd like to see it stay that way, they've been overdoing them. I liked the new Cybermen (especially the blue tooth ear pieces) but what happened to the Cybermen from this dimension? I also like that the Sontarans are back.</p><p>I read somewhere the next old series baddies they might bring back are the Silurians and Sea Devils. If they do, I hope their mouths move when they talk and that the Silurians lose the red lights on their heads.</p><p>It would be cool if the new series had an episode where they battle rubbery monsters without movable mouths in a stone quarry.&nbsp;</p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

But to add something more, I'd also like to see the Sontarans again! <br /> Posted by jmilsom</DIV></p><p>Then you should be watching hte current series.&nbsp; ;-)&nbsp; They returned in "The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky". a brilliant two-parter.&nbsp; Their look has been updated slightly, but they're still instantly recognizable to Whovians.&nbsp; Very good story.</p><p>The Master was great.&nbsp; He came back at the conclusion of Season Three.&nbsp; John Simms was fantastic in the part, though he's really not the same without a goatee.&nbsp; :-D</p><p>Zygons would be nice to see back.&nbsp; They were originally designed by BBC costume designer James Acheson, who did a significant percentage of the costumes in the mid-70s, including devising the Time Lord gowns and collars for "The Deadly Assassin" which would become so iconic.&nbsp; Acheson later said that he was most proud of his Zygons.&nbsp; He went on to a highly successful film career, which won him a number of awards including at least two Oscars.&nbsp; So the Zygons have a high pedigree.&nbsp; ;-)</p><p>I'd also like to see the Mondas Cybermen back.&nbsp; They've got to be doing *something*.&nbsp; It might be interesting to see a clash between the Mondas Cybermen and the alternate Earth Cybermen.&nbsp; Other interesting baddies to see again could include:</p><p>The Rani&nbsp; (she's an evil Time Lady, who almost certainly would not have cared a whit about the fate of Gallifrey and probably thus did *not* perish in the Time War)</p><p>Sea Devils</p><p>Silurians</p><p>Movellans (a beautiful robot race who were locked in a stalemate with the Daleks for several centuries)&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Argh...&nbsp; Work calls....&nbsp;</p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p> </p><p><font color="#666699"><em>"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff."</em>  -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"</font></p> </div>

<p>I'm liking all the Zygon love.&nbsp;</p><p>CA - I'm with you on the original Cybermen. I liked the reinvention but where are the originals?</p><p>Another alien they brought back were the Macra. They were in an old Doctor #2 story (I think it may be one of the lost episodes). I never saw the original, but read about it. The Macra reappeared in that episode where the Doctor and Martha were stuck in traffic on New Earth.</p><p>I have a feeling the Ice Warriors and Yeti will make re-appearances &nbsp;along with the Sea Devils / Silurians.&nbsp;</p><p>They need another Time Lord. Maybe they could bring back the dinosaurs from one of the early series.
