Does outer space end – or go on forever?

Interesting approach for *kids* :) I note the article states clearly near the end, "But nobody knows for sure. How to answer this question will need to be figured out by a future scientist."

Good answer. Currently in the BB model using H0 and z=1100 for the CMBR, the comoving radial distance is near or a bit farther than 46 billion light-years from Earth position today (see cosmology calculators). That is why various reports say the universe in astronomy is about 93 billion light-years in diameter. Using telescopes like I have, I cannot see this vast space - yet :)
