Someone know at what distance the earth radio transmission could be detected by SETI if it were located in another part of the galaxy?

Depends on what part. We lie about 30,000 light years from galactic center in a galaxy about 100,000 light years in diameter. Leaving about 70,000 light years to play with. If an ET were listening for us...they could be as far out as 70,000 light years.

However, if they are that far off. They will have to wait about that long for signals to arrive at their planet. An example, we actually broadcast a signal back in 1974 from the Arecibo Puerto Rico dish. If there are aliens 70,000 light years distance, they will not detect the signal till 71,974.

ETs that could detect us within the next decade would be within about 50-60 light years.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Those who make it happen, those who watch it happen...and those who do not know what happened.
