Just out of curiosity, if I had a small satellite ready to be launched (a 30cm-diameter aluminum sphere of less than 15 kg mass); What would be the best choices for finding a free-launch? How could I ask some launch services enterprise to put into orbit as a hitch hicker payload for free or even under a symbolic price?

Don't know about "free" but micro/mini satellites frequently get piggybacked.

Might want to read this thread.

What is the going rate for LEO, $10,000 US per pound? You are asking someone to give you something worth $300,000. Good luck!
