How would I figure or calculate the escape velocity at the earth's suface? And at the same time compare it too 100km above the Earth's Surface?

And What fraction of the Earth's escape velocity is obtained by an object placed in our planet's equator? forgetting about outside factors is it better to launch a missile or pole to the moon from the equator?

The formula is g (gravity)= G (gravitational constant) X M (Mass) / r^2 (radius from center of mass squared)

Are you just curious, or are you doing homework?

The approximate speed of the srfuace at the equator is ~ 1000 mph, escape velocity for earth is ~ 25,000 mph.

At the poles, the rotational speed is zero, so the closer you are to the equator, the more of a head start you have.
