Evidence of 'modern' plate tectonics dating to 2.5 billion years ago found in China

Interesting report. 2.5 billion years ago, the Earth's LOD is different than present 24 hour period, the Moon orbits closer to Earth with a shorter lunar month (and a larger angular size in the sky along with SAROS cycle changes), the Sun is Faint Young Sun problem with a faster rotation rate for the Sun too. For the 2.5 billion year time line, do the astronomical changes match up well with the geologic timeline? The geology department looks at rocks to measure time, some look at the astronomical changes required. So we have a shorter LOD for Earth, a shorter lunar month, larger angular size for the Moon, different cycle of solar and lunar eclipses with different timing measurements, a fainter Sun and faster rotating Sun too compared to the present. Hopefully, nothing can go wrong.
