Has the idea ever been presented that all matter will spin out to a certain point and then be "recalled" to collapse on itself in an infinite expansion/contraction loop; it would seem that this would certainly produce a big bang; but I suppose there would have to be a center from which all matter would be pulled back to?

Identify the forces that cause the spinning expansion and following contraction? Is it dark energy, then gravity?

I suppose the attraction for me is the idea of a closed system simply because I can much better conceive of a unity with no beginning and no ending rather than an open system that would imply a starting point and an ending point-- hard to put in words, but paradoxically I can better believe in a system that has no definable beginning/ending than one that would have had to have a starting and ending point. Now I realize a rubber band, though appearing to have no beginning and no ending, did have to be manufactured at some point...
