Stellar evolution theory using p-p chain fusion, CNO, and triple alpha process fusion, the physics indicate a star will expand its size and slowly evolve into a red giant star, e.g. the Sun as the star burns its hydrogen. Equations of state (EOS) are developed for this cycle showing density, pressure, and temperature changes and the ideal gas law (PV=NRT) shows the stellar expansion. Stellar evolution theory is used to explain the H-R star diagram plots obtained for various star clusters like main sequence, main sequence turn-off point (e.g. M67) and red giant branch stars.

In about 4 billion years the Sun will have used-up its source of power in the core -- fusion of hydrogen to helium. It doesn't turn off, however, like a light switch, but other fusion takes place that will cause the Sun to do what other stars like the Sun do in these advanced-age circumstances -- they swell and become "red giants" and our star will expand to almost today's Earth's orbit. [The Sun will also lose mass so Earth's orbit will move outward but not to any safe place.]

Apropos of nothing in particular . . . . . . . . . could it be some incredibly ignorant statement, could it be real genius, dunno - could it be stupendous assertion, could it be incipient insanity . . . . . . . . . lets scrap science, lets go back to living in caves - surely anything is better than pursuing improvement of knowledge. Just getting my stone axe and off for dinner . . . . . . . . . that's life!
