Hello this is my first post on the Space Forums
I am working on a research paper about the future of space flight and VASIMR technology is looking very promising but the power requirements for a VASIMR rocket powerful enough for a manned mission to Mars will necessitate a nuclear fission reactor. My question is what methods are available which can convert the heat generated by a fission reactor into electricity? Is this technology a feasible method of generating electricity for a spacecraft which simply requires adequate funding for its development?
