Too good to be true. Besides you've been visiting every forum you can find posting this link, as if you think generating a vast undercurrent of net interest in such an impossible project will somehow make it a reality. Too irresistable for those, ahem, tentatively involved to ignore.

Perhaps you're onto something, at the very least it's an inventive way of ensuring your screenplay will be read. Postmodern or what.

I wish I could remember
But my selective memory
Won't let me - Mark Oliver Everett

ah. well that explains it better. and on that, i would definitely find some concrete screenplay, teleplay, what have you, and copyright it. but this does sound an impossible thing, and unless you have some exceptional screenplay that is totally original without echoes of other genres and actual material, it will not get off the ground.
but still, interesting concept.

This sounds like an idea I once had. Go to a small town, run TV advertisements about a fake movie starring dozens of A-list celebrities (but don't tell them it's fake), set a date for it’s release, pack the theater on the opening night, run a cheap home movie instead, then take the cash and head for the state line.
thats been done many times. William Shatner was going to direct a movie, had such a buzz going in the small town he chose taht they revamped the whole place, but he forgot to tell them he wasn't shooting there after all (this after talking to their city commerce). oops. he willingly payed for most of the mix up.
