Former astronauts must chaperone private missions to the International Space Station, NASA says

It's economically encouraging that a marked number of "run-of-the-mill" folks have enough "heavy shekels" to pay for a "one upmanship" ride to the ISS. IMO, such tourism might be long term both detrimental and dangerous to the space program. But that's me. Personally, I prefer to send those "shekels" on at a beach location where the Tiki Bar tenders have a "fine steady hand and measure with fat fingers"; all the while the warm climate allows for Bikini bottom only modesty.
